Review of Skagen Watches (The Simplicity Of Danish Design)
Skagen has been producing watches for quite some time, and its styles are straightforward and understated. What else would you expect from a watch manufacturer with Danish influences, after all?
This successful fashion company was really founded by a New York couple who were motivated by their time spent in Denmark. They hired Danish clock manufacturers to assist them get started and based their designs on what they were seeing around them.
After that, everything moved forward swiftly.
Since then, they have grown larger over time, being available everywhere and incorporating other fashion items. They became so significant that Fossil took notice, acquired them, and now includes them in their portfolio of businesses as a whole.
Skagen continues to adhere to its original design philosophies and produces beautiful, straightforward, and uncomplicated timepieces that, at least to me, scream "Bauhaus" from every pore. After all, in the early 1900s, it was the main focus of Bauhaus.
Skagen is a significant manufacturer, so even though their costs are quite low, the quality has not been compromised. Owners continue to give them excellent ratings and reviews.
You won't find intricate automated movements or exceptional Swiss engineering since this is still largely a fashion brand. Whatever you pay for, you get.
Let's check out what Skagen has to offer, then.

The Skagen Sundby's square stubby hands and bold, oversized Arabic numbers all across the dial are evocative of Bauhaus minimalism. For individuals who operate in any profession with 24-hour time, Skagen has also included a subdued but still readable Date window opens at 6:00. and a handy 24-hour inner ring of markers (or Europe for that matter). I particularly like the crisp, vivid blue dial, which stands out against the drab metallic gray of the strap and case.
For a watch with a basic Quartz mechanism, 30m water resistance, and a Crystal Mineral, the general quality is quite standard. However, this watch differs a bit from its competitors due to the usage of titanium for the casing and a chic mesh strap.
In case you like the all-gray Grenen (in the second image), there is also another variant available.
- Quartz mechanism
- Crystal Mineral
- aluminum case
- Mesh strap made of stainless steel with a fold-over safety clasp

The Archer model is ideal if you want to go even more minimalist and Bauhaus. Its plain white face with black markings and numbers is a perfect example of Danish design. Other Bauhaus watch manufacturers, like as Nomos, often employ the blue second hand on the hour and minute hands as well.
The square stainless steel pieces at the lugs provide another attractive touch, and Skagen has still managed to smuggle in its 6 o'clock date window. In addition, the crown is so tiny that it may be difficult to see while setting this watch.

A neat and substantial chronograph with three subdials that are vertically aligned and are near to the crown is included in another elegant iteration of the Ancher design. The dial has recessed sub-dials with a more reflective backdrop and is a crisp gun-metal color. With a rose-gold-style finish, the hands and markers stand out well.
The substantial leather band complements the design perfectly and can be readily swapped out for any other 20mm band you may own.

- chronograph with three dials
- leather belt
- 50m water resistance (165ft)
- Size of case: 40 x 8 mm

The Melbye model from Skagen is a bit more distinctive. A plain gray dial with only two numbers (at 6 and 12 o'clock) is present, yes. Naturally, it boasts spotless silver hands and a day window with the date at 3 o'clock. However, it features a very distinct inner second ring that is brilliant orange.
The rest of the specs are standard Skagen with a quality aluminum case, Quartz mechanism and strap made of stainless steel.

One of Skagen's most recent attempts into the Smartwatch market is this one. The crisp white dial and blue hands still scream Skagen, but under the surface are several practical smart watch features:
- activity monitoring (steps, distance, and calories burned and monitor your sleep duration)
- notification filters (text, email or call)
- automatically adjusting the time and date (when you move time zones too)
Through a useful smartphone app, it works with the majority of phones, including iPhone 5/iOS 9.0 and Android OS 5.0+.

- Water resistant to 165 feet (50 M): suitable for short periods of...
The last men's model I want to discuss is Skagen's Holst design. It has enough distinctive components on the dial, in my opinion, to merit this last position.
The stunning dial is deep blue with attached baton hour markings and sharp, lumed hands. This watch really stands out from its contemporaries when the recessed inner dial with the day/date subdials and the Skagen trademark are added.
The light calfskin leather band, which has a 22mm width and neatly fits between the lugs of this watch, provides the finishing touch of elegance.

Skagen has definitely not forgotten about women, and this small edition of the Ancher line showcases all of their design talents in a single timepiece.
A plain, uncomplicated dial with crystal timepieces and a substantial, gold-tone-plated bezel and case immediately exude sophistication. This is one of the most well-liked Skagen watches for women on Amazon when the stainless steel mesh band is added in.
You may view and click on the photos below to see and learn more about it in a number of additional colors and styles.

The finishing touch to this exquisite watch that can be worn to work every day or out on the town is the lovely stainless steel mesh band with the graceful lugs.
There are a wide variety of models to pick from, as with other Skagen collections. I've included a few of them here.
